Lifestand Compact LSC
|
The Lifestand is unique for its small compact size. For such a small chair it handles someone of even my stature and size quite well. Even though it is a rear wheel drive chair, it does a good job of maintaining the operator's center of gravity for stability. Its small size further encourages its easy maneuverability both in the seated and standing positions.
Its shortcomings are a lack of power in its small motors, smaller batteries resulting in shorter range, and custom nonstandard electronics that have unknown reliability status. Consequently, it is a superb indoor chair, but could run into some challenges and be found lacking outdoors. I was also not very impressed by the knowledge or service from the regional sales representative out of Iowa, though I wouldn't let that stop me from buying the chair from a local reseller if it was an appropriate fit. Finally, it would be nice if the chair was able to recline just a bit more.
Overall, a chair that excels in what it set out to do, be small, simple, compact, and elegant. Again, like the Vertran, I feel it is a bit lacking in the future-cost competitive arena next to the Levo.
