A very Blessed Easter to you!! Let the Lord carry you from time to time, when you need Him to!! It was great yesterday at your house!! I think we accomplished mountains.........I know you felt it was molehills, but either way, things were accomplished!! I will continue to help you with your personal stuff.......I understand the feeling of having to say 'good-bye-', for whatever reason, but it helps if you can 'let it go'!! I love you bunch's, nephew!!

Hi Mark, Hope things are going well for you. I hope you had a chance to get out in the warm weather we been having. Terry and i went for a ride on the bike tonight just a short trip on the outskirts of town, We decided that Rochester is getting way to much traffic and growing way to fast, I guess they call it progress. Have a great weekend even if it rains it will just make the flowers bloom a little faster. You are always in our prayers Connie & Terry

Hello Mark Felling, I found your website searching for information about BD-4's and the Blanton Ford V-6 engine. I bought both last June 03 and am preparing to refurbish them and put together. The acft flew in the 70's with a Continental 180 HP but has been in storage for decades. Looks like I have my work cut out for a (couple) year (s). However long it is though, when it is flying I'll come to the Great Cold North and fly you wherever you want to go (the Caribbean?) May God Bless You in your recovery!

Darlene and family,
My heart goes out to you and our prayers continue to be with you! Darlene, I am glad you are able to visit Mr. Kleenex because it is a much needed release for you! Your openess and honesty is also a blessing! I just read something written by Joni Earckson Tada( the lady who became a quadraplegic after a diving accident when she was a teenager)! It really touched my heart so I thought I would share it with you. She was talking about the inconvenience Mary & Joseph had to endure to travel to Bethlehem at the end of Mary's pregnancy and the scary thoughts that must have run through Joseph's mind. These are Joni's words: "God used an external circumstance, the Roman census, to have His Son born in His ancestral city.
Now, certainly, it was a great inconvenience to both Mary and Joseph. But unpleasant circumstances often have a way of becoming the best part of God's magnificent design. Despite the headache and hardship, the inconvenience and discomfort, God's sovereign timetable was ticking off right on schedule. This Christmas story has a lesson for us today, because sometimes you and I make the mistake of thinking that only the "right" things or comfortable things are a part of God's design. A good job, robust health, close friends, a comfortable house, money in a savings account---all give us the impression that we must be doing something "right." Then, when the inconvenience or discomfort or hardship hits, we wonder what "went wrong." Maybe nothing went wrong. Maybe we simply need to realize that our most unpleasant circumstances, much like Mary's and Joseph's, often have a way of becoming a beautiful portion of God's magnificent design. God's sovereign timetable is working in the life of your family, too, hard as that may be to accept at times. Despite the hardship, despite the inconvenience, despite our lack of understanding, God has something in mind. He is in control, and He has a design for your life this Christmas season...and through all the seasons of your life." That is the end of Joni's words. That really was a blessing to me and I pray it will be to you also. I shared this with Larry and told him we never know what kind of Christmas we will have but we know God will be with us! May God bless each of you with a Special Christmas!

Hello Mark (and Family!)
I only recently found out about your accident from my parents. They saw the ad for your benefit in the Enterprise and called me right away. I was very sad to hear about it, but encouraged to hear about how strong willed you are (I already knew that before the accident)! I wish you the best in your recovery and will think about you often.

Hi Mark
I've been hearing about your progress and am so happy that you're getting better. I don't even know how long its been since we've seen each other. Probably almost four years, or whenever you moved away from Fargo/graduated from NDSU. You've always been so good about keeping in touch, or least keeping me on your list of friends for those mass emails you send out. I appreciate it. It's great living in the age of technology with email and internet. I'm sure someday we'll be in the same place at the same time and we can talk about old times. Anyway, I just want you to know I've been thinking about you even though its been a long time. Take care, and get better soon. God Bless!

Greetings----aawww!! Yes to Darlene's entry!! It has been a busy week for our family!! The young man I (kinda) facilitated getting to Mark was AWESOME.....right to the point of making adjustments!! He also had a halo for the recommended period of time!! (12 weeks??)
Mom came through the surgery very well, but the morphine gave her a trip without an explanation.....she was kinda in la-la land!! That is not Mom, as you all know, so we knew what was going on, but unfortunately, the nurses DID NOT!! (Some people do this naturally, and thankfully, she does not, lol!!)
The boys and I are all stricken with the 'cold bug'....in the chest..stuffy..icky....we praythe bug will leave us soon, as we have better things to dol lol!!!
I talked to Mom'snurse a short time ago, and she is resting well. Dad was SO worried about her trying to get out of bed, and messing the new knee up.....I hate this Hotmail format, for sure!!
I helped Darlene get Mark into bed, as it is harvest time, and Earl was sooooo tired!! Believe me, Darlene's Guardian Angel is RIGHT beside her..no doubt!!! I have mattresse's coming tomorrow.....geez, this family has a lot going on, huh? If you know of anyone having a fire, please contact me, so I can guide them on some choices!! Going on 7 months seems redicoulus (sp?) to me, then to have a shoddyjob!!
Hugs to all!!
Mark is so awesome, saying ALL THE TIME, "I'm fine".....Pray for his continued strength!!

HI Mark,
Just thought I'd drop a note and ask if there is anything we as a club ( Albany MNT. Toppers)can do for you? I noticed how someone had said that you loved to be scratched! Well if that is something you would like us to do let us know. I know of a few cute little kids in our club that would be honnored to scratch your back for you! If you are tired of seeing your mothers face all the time, well we can take care of that also, we can kidnap her! Just some ideas I had. Hope you will take us up on the offer. You're in our thoughts and prayers!

Dear Mark,
My name is Marie. We haven't met yet, but I'm Steve St. Marie's fiancee. Consider it fair warning that we do mean to visit you. Wedding plans have been quite distracting for both of us, but I'll nag Steve again about visiting soon. It would be nice to visit you while you're still at home before you have to go to the Courage Center.
Selfishly speaking, maybe you will have a thought to share about a problem I've been having with my computer. In short, the display doesn't work when the screen area is set to 800x600 pixels which is annoying since I have some games (Monopoly, Scrabble, and the Dungeons & Dragons Character Generator) which only work on that setting. Oddly enough, the screen area does work at the rest of the settings including both the 1024x768 pixel setting and the 640x480 pixel setting. . . . Okay, so the rest of the people reading this guestbook probably don't want to hear about my computer problem, but your expertise is legendary. ;)
I look forward to meeting you.

Greetings to all who visit this 'comment' site-----A HEAD'S UP----I had about an hour to spare yesterday...(Thursday), so opted to go and visit Mark at the farm. (I did feel bad....both Darlene and Mark were trying to snooze..I'm sure Darlene is having a "I'm so coming down from the high, ...being home" day. (Actually, Mark snored a couple times, lol!!)
Well, I touched his cheek....he said "that felt good", and Darlene enlightened me that he ENJOYS anyone scratching/massaging/rubbing his bearded area/head/neck/(particulaly at the nape of his neck)!!! This is something you and I don't think about.(oops, I just scratched my ear)!!!.......SOOOOO, if anyone visits Mark, and your comfortable, rub/scratch/massage!!!! HE LOVES IT!!!
I spent the afternoon, trying to find the microphone he asked me to, some software, and some adapters for his aviation headset.(if that is worded correctly. Tomorrow....today...Saturday, I plan to call a guy I met (originally from Freeport), to see what he uses for the computer!! If any of you have any information for the handicapped using a computer, send it our way!!!! Please do not worry about the 'techy' stuff, Mark WILL FIGURE that out, without a doubt!!!!
With prayers to all of you for everything you have done, and continue to do.....(Darlene's neighborhood/area is AMAZING!!......May the GOOD LORD continue to carry us through our jouneys!!
Hugs and Blessings,

Mark,
Wow, standing up must have been a whole new perspective. We are all pulling for you in this experience you are trucking through.
You are doing a great job with the task you have been given. We continue to pray, and ask for God's healing touch.
Blessings on you Darlene for your constant presence. It will be exciting to have Mark home for awhile. If I can help, let me know. Call on your support system in this community, and they'll help to see you through.

Mark dear,
I heard about your crash on the news, and said,"Oh my God, is that OUR Mark Felling?" Then I saw and heard your mom and knew. Being isolated during the summer, I didn't get this address until school started and I found Ben in my speech class! Yeah, yeah, yeah, your "old" Knowledge Bowl coach should have been able to find you sooner.... Want to hear why my inability to find you is even more pathetic? My sister is a nurse at Sister Kinney!!! Her name is Rose Garrison, and if you are still there tomorrow, 9/5/03 when she gets to work, she'll come visit you for me. Now you can also tease me about my convoluted writing. Even though I didn't know where you were and what was happening, you have been in my constant prayers since July 2 or 3 and will STAY there. Remember, you have always been one of my favorite people. I send blessings and a big hug. Mrs. Mary Kay Grabmeier

Greetings to all!!
This entry is mostly for all the wonderful people who post here! I am Jean, Darlene's sister, and Eileen (another sister), myself, and my 2 son's (age 17/14---scroll down, you'll see Jonathan's entry about middle August(??)-the "really tall cousin, and holy person"...went down to see Mark. Oh my, I swear someone took all my pocket change, and plugged it into Mark, because he had more than a quarters worth of 'ribbing'-'comments' to give out. At one point, when we were all outside, and I opted to have a cig.--(there is a smoking area)-he 'ordered' me to "get my a$$ into the square area....and chased me with his wheelchair!!!!! You had to be there----we all got a good chuckle out of that one!!! Another time, he was quite explicit about explaining to my boys what a 'cath' is....use your imagine on that one!!! We had a joyous moment when, with the help of a type of arm support, he was able to touch the wheelchair button, to have the door open on it's own!!!!! Put your hands together on that one!! He also drove his wheelchair all the areas we went tonight!!! (and yes, you got it-get out of his way!!
We continue to pray hard, and ask the Lord for strength during these trying times!!!
I love you, Mark!!!!

Hi to Mark and family! Our prayers continue. Darlene I agree we need to have a center especially in central Minnesota that does take care of the folks that fall through the cracks. God will lead the way as to what course you need to take. Listen with your heart and you will make the best decision. Your strength is amazing!

Fellings, we are so amazed every time we read on all the wonderful progress Mark has made. We were not able to check the website for several days and the progress seems so immense after an interval. The outings sound so great for all of you, thank goodness the weather has been so cooperative for the outdoor happenings. We are still praying hard for a good outcome for Mark. Hopefully something good will work out for the month of September. Prayers will continue on this end. Love from the Nienabers.

One more center that may be worth looking into -- Mom said that she talked to Irene Puhlman and her son Fred was hurt really bad awhile ago and had VERY good results and care in Redwing. It is called the Redwing Health Center - on 4th and Jackson, the phone number is 612-388-2843. Good Luck!

Hey Mark I'm glad you had fun at the fair. Can you believe i have never been to the fair. Keep your head up and stay strong, as I'm sure you are doing already. : ) Darleen, about adding more pictures, what I do is just put more on the scanner at the same time, so instead of scanning one picture at a time I put three on at a time. That's why I had 9, I think. If you have any questions you know where to find me. I hope that helps. Take care Amy*

Darlene and Family- It was great seeing you as well, keep your chin up and your familys faith will carry you far, I know your children are one of your most treasured posessions, your goal is to keep them safe and happy and when that sometimes waivers we beat ourselves up emotionaly. Please remember that you and Earl have done a wonderful job and thats why it hurts so much when you can't fix their BooBoos. There will be good in all of this confusion you will see. Take care and thinking of you and the family--Mark just keep looking forward. Bye for now Sandy

Hi Mark! (and Darlene)
You know, Mark, if prayers are gonna get you through this, then consider it done! I am sure you have absolutley no idea how many of them are being offered each and every day! Whatever you are thinking, tripple it and then some!!! Everyone I talk with are praying. People who don't even know you are praying. It surely is amazing how our little community pulls together for one common cause......YOU!!!
All I can say is that you are in my prayers, too, and that I wish to the Good Lord I could do something to ease your burden! Try to stay possitive and strong. God will answer all of these well intentions and prayers. Believe that!!
Darlene, you, too, are constantly on my mind and in my prayers. You have moved mountains already and God will give you the strength to continue to do so. Know you are thought of and wished strength and endurance. Call sometime if you have a few free moments.
With love and continued prayers,

Greetings to the Felling family, especially to Mark. My name is Julie Schaefer, and my son is Adam Elliott's best friend. We check Adam's website several times each day, and that is how I came to hear of Mark's accident. I went through and read all of the updates and it sounds like Mark is one helluva fighter. Keep up the good work. We also know the Pung family, as Kathy and I graduated together. It makes me sad, and sometimes very angry that people have to go through things like this. Our own family is struggling with my husband's fight against 2 brain tumors. I guess no one is immune. However, after reading your updates, hearing about the strong attitude of Duane Pung, seeing the determination of Adam and his family and witnessing the strength that my husband puts forth, it renews my faith in the fact that if God brings us to it, he will bring us through it. Please know that I have added Mark's name to my little "prayer list." I will include him with Adam and my husband when sending the prayers for strength, faith and hope for recovery.

Hi Mark,
Your one GREAT GUY as anyone who looks at this guestbook can tell from all the prayers you have been recieving. It is really great to hear that you are getting out of the BIG house once and awhile. We pray for all the little improvements that you are looking for, only patients is one I should pray for on my behalf. I hope you get to the fair. It was good to here that they got you to a standing position for a short time, that sounds like they are concerned about your legs, I Sure hope that is a posibility someday also. Karen and I remember you in our prayers everyday.

Mark, We've been reading your Mom's updates and are praying for you. Don't give up. You have a lifetime ahead of you just a little change in plans from what you originally planned but time will tell.
Do they require a driver's license for one of those chairs?
Aaron has helped with hay a time or two. He even helped Ben and Brett with milking. That city kid is learning what a little hard work is. He actually liked milking.

Darlene,Earl& Mark, It sounds like the progress is still going strong, I am so happy to hear that the wheelchair mobility is positive. Mark, you are an amazing man, keep the faith and continue to meet the challenges before you. Earl and Darlene, it was nice to see you at the benefit Tuesday, I agree, there is no better place to live. I was also warmed by the overwhelming show of support for the Pungs. I didn't see the final price on the desert, did it go really high? Or did Earl have to bid it up? They really had a good showing of donations and people to eat and bid on the items there. We will continue to follow your progress here and ask your many guardian angels to keep up the good work. Love, Dan & Cindy Nienaber and family

Fellings, it sounds like you have all had some challenging days, so perhaps the days ahead will yield more productive and positive results. It does seem as far as I can tell that the progress is definetely continuing, and that is super! The outings for Mark seem to be a step in the right direction, even though they are very tiring. The endurance will surely come with time, like any medical event, the building of strength is a long process. We are still praying for continued improvement and strength for you all. I know that God has many angels hovering over you all. We will continue to follow the amazing progress here in this wonderful technology. Dan & Cindy Nienaber and Family

Hi Darlene, Mark & all,
I 've been reading your journal entries the last few days. Thanks for the updates! My frequent visits have taken a lapse and I apologize! I've been meaning to visit for the last two weeks -- I wanted to get our wedding invites out tomorrow, but it's taking longer than I expected. I hope to visit Mark next Tuesday or Wednesday (8/19 or 8/20).
A friend of mine told me about a cool Web site. It's www.liferollson.com I think you'd be interested in what's there. Perhaps Mark would want to start something similar!
If you ever want to get together for dinner or lunch when you're down here, let me know. Until then, take care of you!
I'm praying everyday!!

Dear Mark, its me Jon. For those who don't know me, I'm Mark's really tall cousin and I'm a pretty holy person too. This is a little hard for me because one:its kind of hard for me to share some things for different reasons and two: for me its a bit hard for me to see someone that i look up to, to be in that kind of condition. On a Stubenvile retreat I prayed to the Lord to give me a sign that Mark will be ok... he gave me a couple signs. And recently I had a dream that started where me, Mark, Darlene(aunty), and other family members were gathered around; Mark and me was sitting n a bench with people gathered around. He still had his halo on, someone said something and Mark got frustrated and stood up and argued at the coment.... hopefully that will come true.... I love you Mark!! Jon

Mark:
I think I know how you must feel. I was in an Army helicopter crash in Germany in 1988. I was 23 years old at the time. I had to fly back to the U.S. on a C 141 hospital plane on a stretcher, after 4 weeks of recovery in Stutgart, then Wiesbaden Germany.
Back in the U.S. it was five more months of recovery and rehabilitaion at Wright Patterson A.F.B.
I purchased a Kitfox Classic IV kit in 1996 and started flying it in January 2000.
It will get better. Just keep thinking about healing and getting stronger.
God Bless

Hi Mark and all of the Felling family. Isn't this website wonderful way to communciate to all those that love you. I had no idea when we dropped Benji off in the Cities from the Boston/New York band trip that he had this to deal with on the last part of the trip. Benji is a great young man and he must have learned it all from his oldest brother! On Sunday, July 6, I lit a candle at St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City, for those that needed extra care (not knowing at that time about Mark's accident) otherwise it would have been a bit more DIRECT! We attended Mass at Seven Dolors on Saturday night and I could picture your entire family being there as I have seen you there as a family so very often. It was quite the eventful Mass when the whistle blew and we needed to head to the basement! We were all safe and could return to worship after the sky cleared! Your family is full of faith and God will care for you as you continue this healing journey. You are in our daily prayers.

TO THE FELLING FAMILY, our thoughts and prayers are with you daily. How hard it is to understand why bad things happen to good people. GOD is with you every hour of everyday, so pull on His strength to help you through this. Mark is young, and very determined. He will prove to everyone that he CAN do it! God Bless you all with love, family and friends. They will create a prayer line directly up to Heaven and ask God for Mark's healing.

Hi Cousins Darlene and Mark,
I was glad to get your website address from Ruthie the other day. Everyone is asking how you're doing Mark. Now I will have the answer right from the source! I was excited to read that you can be up in a chair. I imagined you flat on your back 24-7. With all these procedures going on, you'll both become medical experts! I don't remember the scenario, but years ago someone asked me if I was a nurse. I said "No, just spent a lot of time in hospitals and clinics." Keep up the positive attitude,(I'm sure it will speed your recovery) and we'll keep up the prayers! Love, Ann and family

Greetings Everyone-
Mark I have to share your spirit, ok?
I am Jean-Darlenes sister/Mark's aunt. On Tuesday I took Mom and Dad-Mark's Grandma and Grandpa to see him. When I went into the room, and spoke "Mark"-he opened his eyes-I said, "I brought Grandma and Grandpa down"--he just beamed--got this huge 'Mark grin'--and proceeded to mouth many words to us....within seconds, he asked Grandma if "she brought food"...any of you who know Mom will get a chuckle from this!!! It was just precious! Now that Mark can eat, I'm sure Grandma will be 'cooking', lol!! Mom was tugging on my pocket, because she wanted to get going! I said to Mark, "we have to go, Grandma wants to go RIGHT NOW"...I told Mark...hmmmm..wonder where you get the DO IT NOW thing from....his reply was "I'm sorry Grandma, I trained with you"....just hilarious, huh?
Mark continues to be a trooper....
Darlene-I pray the Blessed Mother put her hands on your shoulders!
Mark-Keep strong...you are an awesome young man!!!!
We are continuing to pray....and ask your Guardian Angel to be by your side.
Love, Hugs, and Kisses

Hi Mark
Like everyone else, we were both shocked and saddened to hear of your terrible accident. I have just been reading your mum's (note English spelling throughout!) updates on this site and it sounds like you are making some real progress - keep up the fight.
Paul is currently on vacation in Europe and Geoff is off-site running a training course, so this note comes from all three of us over here in Europe.
We will all be over in September and will try and make sure we get to see you. In fact name your bar and drink now and we'll put it in our diaries! If there is anything that you would like us to bring over, just let me know. I know that it is sometimes difficult to get hold of things over in the former colonies...
Take care.

Hi Mark, Darlene, Earl and family,
Just to let you know that we are all praying for you and that although we don't understand God's plan, we must accept it and go from there. It may not be an easy task to do, but God is with us to help us through. God is on our side and we have to remeber that. Beth says, "Stay strong and don't give up."
Let us know whenever we can do anything for you or your family. We are always here.
Love, Mike, Sharon and family

Mark,
It's great to have this tool available to keep everyone up-to-date with how you are doing. I didn't know how to contact you until my mom received the link to this site - it's been quite a while since we've been in touch (a few years, maybe?). I am praying hard for your recovery, and remember, God will not give you anything you cannot handle. You are a stong person and have the love and support of many people.
God Bless!

Our thoughts & prayers are extended to the Felling family. May God be there with you every step of the way and carry you when the road is too rough. Darlene, I recall our trip to Alex this spring for TV Mass - we had talked about the boys and the car accident by your place. When I heard about this accident, my heart went out to you. Lots of folks are praying - pull from this source of strength. Please be certain to take care of yourselves (rest, eat, get air & sun etc. etc)
God Bless you all.

Mark -
As I've heard from your mom, you've always been a strong, ambitious young man. Your road ahead of you may be tough, but with your ambition you can do it! Keep your head up and good things will come! You have many people praying for you! God WILL take care of you and keep you down the right path! You have a wonderful family! I truely enjoy working with your Mom and my kids enjoy having Priya babysit for them. Your family is strong and have a close bond that will pull you through this! Your're in our thought and prayers everyday!

Hello Earl, Darlene, and Mark
We just received your caringbridge address yesterday. What a wonderful tool to keep us updated (thanks Darlene!) and also for you to know that there are many, many people thinking and praying for you. I've actually been on the website a lot lately checking out the progress of Fr. Greg Tolaas, a priest at ST. Philips where we go to Mass when we're in the cities, who just had a double lung/kidney transplant 3 weeks ago! He's 47 and has CF-so far so good. Like Mark, the road ahead will be paved with many prayers. We will certainly keep you, Mark, and your family in our prayers. Here's a good night prayer for you: Jesus, tender shepherd, hear me. Bless Mark and his family tonight. Through the darkness be thou near them, keep them safe till morning light. All the day thy hand has led them. And I think thee for thy care. Thou hast warmed and clothed and fed them. Listen to my evening prayer. Keep them now from every danger, let thy angel guard their beds. Thou hast nothing but a manger where to lay thy infant head. Let their sins be all forgiven, bless their friends they love so well. Take them when they die to heaven, happy there with thee to dwell. Now I close my eyes so weary, fold my arms upon my breast, praying thee my God to bless them as I gently sink to rest. With love and prayers, the Eibenteiners

Mark, Darlene, Earl, Jim, Greg, Benji, and Pryia, (and Henry)-
Mark, I'll address this to you first, as I understand Mom is reading messages to you. It's Auntie Jeanie, and I want you to know that Jonathan, Joel, and myself are praying HARD for you. Jon and Joey are on a Steubenville retreat in St. Louis, MO, and the entire youth group, (about 2,000 kids) are praying for you. You know Jonathan has a pretty good connection with the man above...Jon says "Mark will be fine"....
For those of you who do not know me, I am Darlene's next eldest sister, Jean...by family, Jeanie. Mark is my computer GOD....well, I'm sure for a lot of us he is. Any conversation with Mark is motivating, as he radiates his passion for things in life.
May the Lord hold all of us in his arms!!
MARK, I LOVE YOU BUNCHES!!!!!!
Hugs,
Jeanie

Hi Mark,
I am part of your folks' Land O' Lakes family; my name is Connie Cihak and I have known your parents for nearly 20 years. I am touched by what you are all going through at this time and I will with others pray for all of your needs - spiritual, physical and emotional. While our family is grown - I am reminded every day, that our children are ALWAYS our children - their needs and our love for them is constant - now matter how grown up they are. My heart goes to your parents and family as you all travel this journey together. Connie Cihak
