My BD-4 N147RB was built quite closely to the original plans with conventional gear (taildragger). It is equipped with a Ford 3.8L V6 engine converted and equipped for aircraft use with a high capacity Holley electric leaning carb and dual electronic ignition. It supposed to put out around 230 HP, but many say in reality it puts out closer to 190 HP. The conversion was done based on design documentation published by the controversial Dave Blanton in the 1980's. Dave was not a very politically correct guy which got him into hot water with a few organizations from what I understand, but was a good engineer and backed up the conversion with more than 12 years research and experience.
